10 reasons why you should visit New York

New York city is one of the most sought after destinations around the world. Is this by chance? Definitely not. Here are 10 reasons to go on holiday there.

10. What’s better than a huge green park? That’s why you have to visit Central Park, lie down on the grass between people who play american football, soccer and volleyball and go to Sheep Meadow, one of the most beautiful places in New York.

9. Do the names New York Yankees and New York Knicks ring any bells? It’s baseball and basketball we are talking about. This means hot dogs, beer and fun.

8. New York is the kingdom of fast food restaurants. Hamburgers? Fries? Hot dog? If you are fans of junk food, well…, you have a wide choice here. Don’t miss Dallas BBQ in Times Square.

7. The prices of flights are not too high. Given the fact that you book your tickets early, you have plenty of options that coud kee your budget safe. As for the accommodation, if you find a good hotel in a central location, go for that. Otherwise, you could look for holiday homes, apartments or even a single room for the holidays.

6. Museums like the Guggenheim and Museum of Modern Art are a must for art lovers (or for rainy days). What’s also recommended is the Frick Collection.

5. If you are a group of friends, spend an evening around the Big Apple in a limo and then spend the rest of the night with music and lights in a club. There are many agencies that offer these services, just ask at your hotel.

4. Pay a visit to the Rockefeller Center. It’s an experirence that matches the one getting to the Empire State Building, with the view from Rockefeller being much better. From there, you get the chance to have an amazing view of Central Park that can’t be seen from the Empire State. If possible, try to be there at sunset when is the best time to enjoy it to the fullest.

3. Shopping. The Macy’s in Herald Square is the biggest shopping center ever. 9 floors, 10% discount (ask for the card from the visitors’ center) for tourists and prices that will most likely be lower than you are used to, especially for the most American brands.

2. Nearby, you have Boston and Washington DC (both about 3 and a half-hour-drive by bus). For those who have plenty of time to spend, you can visit the  Niagara Falls, but keep in mind that it takes about a 6-hour-drive to get there.

1. New York is the city that never sleeps. As the city where dreams are made of, it makes you feel like you are in a movie. Lights, colors, smells, people and skyscrapers. New York City is unique: once visited, it will be hard for you not to want to come back one day.
