At sea in Turkey: the town of Kaş and the beach of Kaputas

And in Kaş you can dream of several things that are worth the trip to this part of the Turkish coast midway between Dalaman Airport and the resort town of Antalya. First of all, in front of Kaş is Kastellorizo, a Greek island that is located 3 kilometers from the city but, despite being distant 70 miles from Rhodes, it is a Greek territory. Here it was shot the film Mediterranean by Salvatores.

Staying with your feet on dry land, Kaş has a long history, having been founded by the people of Licya. Its sea, its beaches and historic sites have been appreciated by tourists, English and German, especially since the 90s, giving way to an uneven urban growth that partially damaged the beauty of the area, where the climate is warm and sunny as that of Tunisia.

Among the things to see there are Antiphellos of the amphitheater, the ruins of villages Komba, Nisa, Kandyba, Phellos, Istlada, Apollonia, and Isinda Kyaenai. Within the city there are still some special grave stones, placed high above in the columns. Often these tombs are located in front of carpet shops or at the entrance of white courtyards and lush gardens that hide cozy restaurants.

For those who love the sea, it should be reported to Kaputas Beach, the  unspoiled nature with trees that reach the sea, at the bottom of a narrow valley from the high cliffs.
