Dubrovnik, Croatia | transformation from a warzone into a tourist hotspot

Croatia has great tourist destinations. It is filled with quite a number of notable attractions. In fact, there are already a lot of people who realized that this place has a lot to offer to travelers to enjoy. Dubrovnik is one of the notable tourist spots. This walled city should be part of your itinerary when you visit the country. You can see the remnants of the prehistoric walls which protected the city before. Practically though, it is still intact until today and there is also a stone wall which runs for about two kilometers. The walls are as high that you have the feeling that you are having a dream. In some of the places, it can even reach the altitude of 25m. In this city you can join activities like sailing and there are also other opportunities which can let you trace the famous walls length. Since it existed ever since the 14th century, those history lovers will surely appreciate this place.  If you love sailing then you will love to sail through various places in Dubrovnik.

You can consider taking short breaks in the small city of Dubrovnik. Also, it looks out on the Adriatic Sea and you will see the calm seas in which you can enjoy the possibility of sailing there. Aside from that, there are also smaller islands that are waiting to be explored. Make sure to plan ahead of time. Mljet is the closest islands to Dubrovnik. If you plan for a day trip with your loved one, this will be a magnificent experience. It is sort of like an adventure.

On the other side of the popular building of Dubrovnik, there is a balancing stone that you can see. This is carved and looks like a face. There is a challenge here. Basically, you will have to stand on the stone without having to fall off. You may think that it is not hard at first but it is really challenging.  Those who are tough and like to try new things, then they will love the place. There are some tourists who prefer to ascend the city walls so that they can see the view from its height. If you do that, you can surely see the Mount Srd and you can take good pictures of the surrounding area. You can see mountains and take photos of famous walls below to the known Old Town. There are small shops and restaurants that welcome tourists that are visiting the place. You can also take time to see serpentine the footpaths too.
