If you chose to go on holiday on a Greek island you will most likely love the sea and appreciate a lot the beaches and cliffs where you can dive and swim in waters that are clean and transparent. If you have chosen the island of Zakynthos there are some places you need to know to enjoy a swim in the blue.
A lot of travel blogs recommend that you start from Piazza San Marco and get away from the city for about ten minutes past the harbor and the tennis courts, to arrive in an area usually frequented by the locals: a small lawn, the easy access to the water is a tavern that offers all the indispensable that complete the whole picture. You can instead the boat can start from Porto Roma or Agios Ioannis for marine excursions to the arches and caves of Keri, where the boats drop anchor to let you swim in the crystal clear sea. The trips usually go on to the island of Marathonisi, which boasts a beautiful white beach where turtles also stop in again.
The beach Navagio is imprinted on every postcard of Zakynthos: taken from the top, is hugged by high cliffs and retains to itself the great wreck of a rusty ship: certainly the most photographed beach in the whole of Greece. On the western side of Port Zante you can find Limnionas, a coastal area characterized by rocks and pine trees that reaches almost to the sea: it is suitable for those who are not afraid to throw the rocks and dive in bold.
Let’s get back with your feet on the sand with Gerakas, Dafni and Port Zoro, driven by a large rocky islet that will delight those who love snorkeling. The small beach of Agios Ioannis Liminaki is ideal for families and those looking for chaos, jet water and maybe a parasailing can try Laganas and Vassilikos.
