Skiing in Spring

The birds are singing, the trees are in bloom and yet there is still so much snow on the mountains. Here is a list of great places for late season skiing.

Monterosa ski

In the shadow of Monte Rosa you can go skiing until April 21st, while those who love the back-country have until May 4 (open at weekends only). There are plenty of ski slopes to choose: Antagnod Brusson, Champoluc Gressoney and Alagna. There is also the new entry of Champorcher.

Val Senales

In Val Senales, snow is guaranteed to be there until May. A district that knows no bounds and has 35 km of slopes accessible by the cable car at high altitude, at 3000 meters, in just 6 minutes. To go down there is a great long descent that is more than 8 kilometers.

Hintertux

In this area of the Austrian Tyrol you will enjoy the blooming flowers.  It is not by chance that the time of the Weeks Flower Pow(d)er is in April, scheduled from April 19 to May 4. It is more than a gathering of flower children and freeride camp. Its participants also have fun in the fresh snow accompanied by a guide and champions of the discipline and learn the basics of an avalanche and risks of the mountain. But there’s more: the special Hintertuxer Glacier. There, you can ski on its slopes, 365 days a year, thanks precisely to the glacier.

Aletsch Arena

Another spectacular glacier welcomes you in this district of the Swiss Valais: the Aletsch Glacier, with its 23 km length is the longest glacier in the Alps and the heart of the UNESCO World Heritage Jungfrau -Aletsch in Swiss Alps. Until April 27, there are more than 100 km of slopes between the resorts of Riederalp, Bettmeralp and Fiesch -Eggishorn.

Les 2 Alps

The winter season goes on until April 26 in the immense French ski that offers a myriad of proposals, not only related to snow. You can ski for 1300m in Mont de Lans and for 3600m on one of the glaciers on 5 different industries. There are trails to suit everyone remember and the ones on the top are easier. The glacier in the summer is ideal for beginners. Worth noting is the event “Junior Foliz“, a festival for families to be held April 19 to 21, including snow, games, animations, performances and workshops.
