The best beaches of Santo Domingo | Dominican Republic

When you think of holidays in a seaside resort, surely the first thing that comes to mind is the sun, the beach and a sea of really surreal colors. If you then want to add to these simple elements those of white sands, pristine beaches and crystal clear waters then you are definitely thinking of a vacation in the Caribbean Sea. Santo Domingo has some beautiful beaches, so let us discover them.

Let’s begin with the mention of Isla Soana, a small island located in the south-east of the Dominican Republic, part of the National Park of the East. What makes this island so special? It has white sand, crystal clear water, palm trees swaying in the wind, so here are some of the reasons that make this place so special. Reached either by speedboat or a catamaran, the human presence on the island is reduced to a minimum with just a small fishing village which is called Mano Juan, whose people in addition to fishing are also dedicated to the creation of crafts.

Next you have Boca-Chica Playa, located in close to a reef, with its white colored sand that stands among the best beaches of this area. In the entire mile and a half of its length, you can find a wide choice of hotels, bars, restaurants; in short, it is a popular destination for both families and for fans of scuba diving or the deep sea.

The Dominican beach that is considered to be the best of the country is Bahia de las Aguilas. This fantastic location is part of the Jaragua National Park, located less than 25 kilometers from the nearest town of Pedernales, and 325 from Santo Domingo. Considered to be one of the few beaches that are still untouched, it will amaze you with its white sands and the different color of the sea. To reach it you have to follow a steep path or go by sea.

Our journey now takes us to Sosua Beach, located on the northern coast of the Dominican Republic. Due to the International Airport of Puerto Plata it is one of the most popular destinations for those tourists who choose to spend their holidays in the Caribbean. In addition to the sun and the always crystal clear sea, this beach also offers many attractions for those who love water sports such as snorkeling, water skiing and scuba diving. It is perfect for all those that want to take advantage of the holidays to relax and have fun.
