Trip to the magic landscape of Isle of Skye | Scotland

Today’s journey takes us to a large, spacious and full of greenery place with a landscape that continues far beyond where our sight can reach: we are talking about Quiraing, one of the most famous parts of Isle of Skye. Besides being one of the attractions that thousands of tourists choose every year, Quiraing is a shift of land that formed an elevation of 543 meters where walkers take advantage to hike or to relax and contemplate it from the bottom by the water mirrors that surround it.

Last year the British newspaper The Guardian chose this one as one of the 10 places you must visit on Skye and it is advisable not only for those who enjoy the landscape but for hikers, nature lovers and photographers.

Quiraing is located in the north of the Isle of Skye, in an area known as Trotternish, and you can reach it from small towns like Staffin and Uig. While you can go at any time of the year to see different types of landscape, it is more advisable to visit the area when we are already quite deep into spring cause the greenery will be more shiny, the sun can be our friend and temperatures can get to be around 15ºC if we are lucky (it is always better to wear a coat), and that in Skye is highly appreciated.

Like many other places in Isle of Skye, what prevails is the nature and if you want to enjoy every moment getting fresh air and sunshine while sitting in the grass, you can walk the narrow path that leads to the summit to watch the views; however, consider that even halfway the landscape is also attractive, so you can choose to rest without having to reach the top.

On your  tour through the route you can find a couple of waterfalls where you can drink fresh, pure water. As this is Scotland you will surely see goats and sheeps anywhere, which will add even more peace when you rest while hearing the sound of water flowing down a waterfall.

Either if you decide to spend several minutes feeling the sunshine and watching the sea in front of you or if you hike prepared with your batons to climb to the top, you will wonder if paradise can really exist since you are right there.
