What to see in Milan: the Duomo terraces with giant blue slugs

Perhaps a visit to the Duomo terraces may seem obvious to local people and in fact walking through the spiers you will see only foreign tourists (this at least in a normal working day). In any case, if you want to enjoy a panoramic considerable spectacle, surrounded by statues, embroidery and lace-carved in marble pink effect for a few days yet there is one more reason.

The collective Cracking Art Group has placed blue giant slugs made of eco-plastic regenerated for the project (an event), as it is the first time that an art installation in Milan is applied to a religious building. But why was the chosen color blue? Because it symbolically takes the coat color of Madonna and also water for the baptism, which is the regeneration and spiritual transcendence. If you are not from the city and would like to stay there for the night then it is very easy to find an apartment in Milan, by just searching online.

So if the nuts-and transcendent-ecological inspire you (and for me it was really a pleasant exploration), you have to wait for the next one because everything lasted on Saturday, October  the 13th , after which the sculptures were auctioned. The hours of access to the terraces were from 9 to 21:30 with last tickets at 20.30, for those who got in the elevator, the price was € 12.00 (reduced € 6.00), for the more adventurous or better, brave, there is the rise of 257 steps to € 7.00 (€ 3.50 reduced). A bit tiring but when there are slugs on the terrace, what a satisfaction!
