Luggage is always a subject of reflection when planning a trip. The question that might often come to our mind is: what can airlines do to convince us to check in our luggage? And the answer is simple, to lower costs or provide facilities.
This issue is of paramount importance when you have a special need. When you have to travel for work and need to move a rollup for a conference, or when you are travelling with kids and therefore have to carry several suitcases, or just when travelling with sports equipment. Today we will focus on the latter situation to wonder how much we have to pay when travelling with our ski gear.
Since in the northern hemisphere it is winter time and there are many travelers who go to ski resorts for snow sports, we want to share this infographic prepared by Skyscanner that may help organize the trip (and budget) to those who must travel with their skis or snowboards.
To prepare it it was considered a basic ski gear consisting of boots, poles and skis and the conditions of 20 airlines were consulted.
It is interesting to see how they differ from each other, a certainly interesting fact when it comes to taking the decision on what airline to book our flight. As well as airline fares we must take into account the additional charges (seat, payments and what we debate today: cost of checked in luggage).
For some companies the sports equipment is included in the normal baggage allowance but for others it is usually considered as a simple additional baggage. In the case of the ski equipment being included in the baggage allowance, it shows what restrictions on weight and what maximum dimensions are allowed on board, so you can know in this way the extra cost of checked in baggage if exceeded.
Take a look and consider all this information when organizing your next holidays in the snow.
