Discovered in 2006 in northern California, the 115 meters giant sequoia tree has so far the record for the highest tree in the world. The pulled the name from the Greek mythology and nicknamed it “Hyperion”, meaning “one who lives upstairs” or “he who looks from above.” To get an idea of the magnitude of the tree, it nothing more and nothing less than 21 meters higher than the Statue of Liberty and it is 526.69 meters cubic. It is located in the Redwood National Park, north of San Francisco.
