Probably one of the most spectacular places to perform a free fall or a bungee jumping is in Mexico in the jungle of San Luis Potosi. A group of Texans ornithologists who were studying birds in the area discovered the place the place in 1967. 7 years later Lorenzo Garcia was the first person to go down this impressive moat. “The basement of the swallows” in Spanish “Sotano de las golondrinas” the popular name known for this great pit was created by water erosion. It has a mouth diameter of 60 meters in a nearly circular shape, a depth of 512 meters and a vertical drop of 376 meters that can be made in just 12 seconds. To get an idea of this magnitude, we could easily put the Eiffel Tower in the basement of the swallows. For the lovers of extreme sports it is one of the most attractive places to perform a free fall (bungee jumping). Although, to avoid disturbing the wildlife that lives within it you can do so between 9:00 am and 15:00 pm, which is when the birds that take refuge in the pit have already left it.
