It is estimated that there are only 700 remaining mountain gorillas, and about half of them live in the forests of central Africa, the volcanic slopes of Rwanda, Uganda and the Democratic Republic of Congo. These areas have seen much human violence from which gorillas have not escaped. Mountain Gorillas can climb trees, but are usually found on the ground in communities of up to 30 people, organized into incredible social structures.
Among them there is a dominant male, which stands out from the silver strip on the back of his fur. In the group there are other younger males, females and their young ones. These locations give the opportunity to see the gorillas in their natural environment and it’s definitely an experience you will never forget.
Mount Gahinga Safari Lodge, Uganda
