Rhodes is one of the most popular Greek islands and it’s not surprising. The great climate that accompanies it through out the year in addition to the history and the incredible beaches set this island very high on the list of perfect holiday destinations. The island gets a lot of sun through out the seasons which make it perfect for a warm holiday. The white houses, narrow streets and turquoise clear waters will leave you speechless! If you visit Rhodes, you should find a chance to check the city located on the east part of the island. it will remind you of acropolis. While near the city you should also try the many Greek delicacies in the tasteful restaurants and the traditional tavernas. You can get a gorgeous view of the bay while eating. Rhodes also hosts the seventh wonder of the ancient world, the Colossus of Rhodes! It’s a gigantic statue that was build as a tribute to the god of sun. However, now only the legs remain as columns at the entrance of the port.
The east side of the island has the greatest and the most lovely beaches. It is also a good spot for water sports and activities. In Faliraki there is a beach that is five kilometers long, located near a large number of resorts. St. Paul’s Bay near Lindos is another great place to see and experience as it is considered the most beautiful beach of the island by many tourists. It offers a sandy beach, while in the sea there are rocks which protect it from the open sea.
Last but not least, there’s the Tsambika Beach which is rated by many travel sites as the most amazing beach on the island. It boasts with crystal clear turquoise water and soft white sand. What makes it a dream beach is also the perfect temperature and the small breeze which are almost always present.
