Villa Borghese is presented as the green lung of Rome, and is considered the second largest public park in Rome (80 hectares) behind Villa Pamphili.
For the Romans, Villa Borghese is the most famous and dearest city park alongside the more popular of the Italian capital.
This park is located on the Pincian hill, between Piazza del Popolo and Piazza Spain.
It covers much of the Pinciano district and part of the Campo Marzio neighborhood, both divided by the Aurelian Walls.
The park has different areas built with different styles. It houses both Italian and English style gardens and contains about a dozen ornamental fountains, more than thirty historical monuments, plus pavilions and artificial ponds. Villa Borghese has a total of nine innings, including six of them that are monumental doors.
This multi-functional park offers attractions and entertainment for everyone, since it houses a complex of palaces and historic buildings that function as galleries and museums open to the public.
It also contains a small zoo, the Bioparco. The Roman park is home to the Grand Gallery of Modern Art, the Etruscan Museum singular and the main character of art, the Museo e Galleria Borghese, where you can enjoy one of the most important galleries in Rome. Also we mustn’t forget the collections on display in the Carlo Bilotti Museum. All amazing sights to behold!
