The Cathedral
The Cathedral can be found opposite the Law Courts, along the central axis. Designed by Niemeyer, the structure is concrete and hyperboloid in shape with extraordinary lighting. It has a glass roofing that seems open and almost reaching the sky.
Palacio dos Arcos
Also called by the name Palacio Itamaraty, this building is where you can find the Foreign Ministry. Besides, this is also amongst the greatest achievements of Oscar Niemeyer as it is situated in fine-looking gardens. Architect Burle Marx designed its landscape to provide a grander and a more spectacular view.
Square of the Three Towers
Locally called as Praca dos Tras Poderes, this establishment is very close to the premises of the judiciary, legislative, and executive offices. The president’s home, the Congresso Nacional, the Supremo Tribunal Federal are all within reach. Aside from that, the Pantheon of Freedom and the Historical Museum of Brasilia are just close by.
Brasilia National Park
Lying at the north-western part of the Federal district, this national park occupies a wide 70,000 acres. This provides a selection of the typical vegetation of mid-west Brazil. Various species of trees, shrubs, grasses and even bodies of water like lakes and streams are all found in the vast land. The park is very wealth of different fauna, with several species of snakes, wolves, deer, wild pigs, birds, and other animals that live there. If you are nature person, you will truly appreciate what the government has done to the place.
Chapada dos Veadeiros
This is a plateau which has been an integral part of the amazing watershed between Sao Francisco, Parana, and the Amazon rivers. Occupying a wide land of 150,000 acres at the northern section of Brasilia, this park is a home to a variety of vegetation and animals. It is truly a must see in the city.
Lake Paranoa
Found on the eastern side of the city, this lake forms a wide body of water with a wide circumference of 80 km. Near the shores of this huge lake are located restaurants, sports clubs, and embassies. Other notable structures found close by are the official residence of the president, the Palace of the Dawn, the Olympic Center, the University and more. The area is filled with several attractions.
