The city with the most bridges in the world is Hamburg| Did you know that

If we ask for cities with more bridges in the world, surely we would think in Venice (Italy) and Amsterdam (Netherlands). But there is still a city that has more bridges than these two cities together: Hamburg (Germany). With nothing more and nothing less than 2,302 bridges the city is far ahead of the 1,281 bridges that has Amsterdam or the 455 bridges of Venice. Hamburg, where it is believed that the emperor Charlemagne (742-814) had built the castle of Hamburg in order to monitor the river Elbe in the year 808. The city has one of the busiest river boats in Europe, only surpassed by the river of Meuse in Rotterdam, the Netherlands. And given the geographic location of the German city, it  was more than necessary to build bridges as seen in the map in order to unite the small islands that were created by the union of the river Elbe with the rivers Alster and Bille
