Favignana Island in Italy | 3 coves with turquoise sea

Off the coast of the island of Sicily, to the east, lies the archipelago of the Egadi Islands (Egadi or Agates). Among them, the island Favignana is the main island of the group, in a region famous for its marble quarries, beaches and coves. As for the beaches, there are some of the most beautiful in the region and about the sea being calm and transparent, which combined with rocky limestone soils, gives a range of colors you can never forget. Just 20 minutes from the port of Trapani, you can find landscapes such as the following, three bays where the sea literally looks like a swimming pool!

1. Cala Bue Marino

It is one of the best vantage points to appreciate shades of sea around Favignana. Huge limestone platforms that make sea terraces with an amazing range of hues in turquoise and blue.

2. Cala Azzurra

This is another natural pool on Favignana Island where there is no need to add too much description. An extensive bedrock extends with minimal slope, allowing swim and enjoy the calm and transparent waters in excess.

3. Cala Rossa

It is one of the great attractions of the island, where formerly worked in mining activity of one of these quarries, there is a rocky cove that displays one of the most beautiful pools in the Mediterranean. It is called Cala Rossa and water has a range of colors ranging from blue to turquoise and green on a huge extension.
