Have you ever noticed some small pebbles on the beaches with strange colors and shapes such as green, orange and red? Now imagine a beach full of these colorful pebbles that makes it one of nature’s miracle. Human kind is known for its ecological disasters but mother nature always has a way to remind us that even the worst action against her can turn into a beautiful result!
The Glass Beach is located near Fort Bragg, California and her story is quite strange. In the early 20th century, residents of the Fort Bragg used to dump there tons of garbage such as glass, appliances even cars were thrown there. Sometimes the residents to be able to fit even more trash on the beach lit huge bonfires and burned everything that fire could destroy. In 1967 the Water Quality Board in collaboration with local leaders closed the area. Various cleaning programs were made over the years to remedy the huge ecological disaster.
What could not be done by the human hand, can be done by the hand of nature. In the decades that followed the waves cleansed the beach and transformed it into one of the most beautiful beaches in the world. Created from discarded glasses, stunning colored stones that cover the entire beach, offering a unique spectacle for those who visit the Glass Beach.
