Moulinet is the name of a small mountain village located 32 kilometers from Menton (Cote d’Azur, France), in the department of Alpes-Maritimes.
It is a charming village of just 250 inhabitants which houses typical old houses and is surrounded by the Bévéra Valley.
Moulinet is close to the Mercantour National Park and it is crossed by the Bévéra river. The stream of the river rises from the Massif Authion at 2075 meters of altitude and splits downstream in to the river Roya.
Although Moulinet is a quiet and somewhat isolated village, tourism has always been alive. This is because it keeps some attractions that are worth knowing such as the Chapel of Our Lady of Menour, a historical monument located on the outskirts of the village. The location of the chapel is very picturesque, perched between two valleys which is accessed via a staircase that crosses a river, surrounded by a bucolic landscape of mountain forests around.
Near the main square is the Chapel of San Jose, superbly restored. Moulinet welcomes visitors from all over the world.
