Isn’t Andorra just wonderful when wintertime comes?
Newness Granvalira 2014/2015
If you don’t know it yet, we’ll tell you Grandvalira has 210 km of slopes located in the north of Andorra. This ski area’s the result of the union of old resorts which now correspond to the areas of Pas de la Casa, Grau Roig, Soldeu, El Tarter and Canillo.
With heights of between 2,640 and 1,710 meters, in Grandvalira you’ve at your disposal 118 slopes and 64 tows, including three cable cars and funicular, and in this new ski season snow cannons cover 65% of the ski area.
As newness for this season in Grandvalira we have the new night skiing run in La Solana, in the area of Pas de la Casa, which opens to the public two days a week for 17-20 hours.
But the youngest public’s the one that should feel the luckiest thanks to the opening of the new experience Mon(t) Magic, with the presence of characters based on Andorran legends, and the longest thematic slope for children in Southern Europe.
Also for children there are two new circuits in the Imaginarium space in Encamp and Pas de la Casa, and the new mini snowpark in Grau Roig.
Newness Vallnord 2014/2015
Vallnord is the result of the union of  Ordino-Arcalis and Pal-Arinsa resorts, making of this season its tenth anniversary.
Nowadays, this ski domain’s configured with three sectors, including two sets:
– In Arcalis, with up to 2625 meters altitude, you’ve 30 kilometers slopes, of which nearly two thirds are artificial snowmaking facilities.
– Meanwhile, sectors in Pal-Arinsal have a maximum height of 2,560 meters, 63 km of slopes, almost half of them with snowmaking and 30 skilifts.
To begin with, for this new ski season and due to the celebration of this anniversary, it stands out the reduction in the price for a fortait, which’ll be €36 /day for skiers from 16-65 years old. Another noteworthy development’s the implementation of the Vallnord Skimo ski mountain project, with three new tracks, one in each sector of Vallnord.
And on the other hand, in Arinsal facilities for freeride are enhanced with the new Forfait Freestyle Arinsal, which will allow to enjoy the hundred most recommended zones and itineraries, making this station a reference to the Pyrenees to practice this ski specialty.
It’s only left to wish you enjoy the new season of skiing in Andorra!
