Prague is the capital of the Czech Republic and one of the cities that make up the famous traveler triangle: Prague, Vienna and Budapest. Also known as the city of a hundred towers, it has many things to see so let’s see what’s not to miss.
Prague Castle
It has the reputation of being the world’s largest castle but in reality, it is more than a castle. What you’ll see is a set of monuments of great historical and artistic value. There is the St. Vitus Cathedral, the great Royal Palace, the Golden Lane, the Romanesque Basilica of St. George and finally the Powder Tower. Every stop is of equal imprtance in terms of either interest so the Castle is a place that is worth spending a whole to explore it.
The Old Town Square
Here you will find the council with its impressive astronomical clock, among other things. It’s such a beautiful clock that you won’t take your eyes of it!
The Church of St. Nicholas
St. Nicholas Church is one of the most remarkable in the city. It is worth a visit just to admire the baroque architecture and there is also this little-known fact to arouse your curiosity: inside of this church is a church organ that Mozart himself played on.
The Jewish Quarter with its six synagogues and the Jewish cemetery
It is a place to visit on the weekdays and specific religious holidays, because on Saturdays, it is not possible to visit any of the monuments.
Charles Bridge
Charles Bridge is one of the most majestic bridges you have ever seen! Plus, it’s free, so you don’t have to worry about spending any money on tickets.
The Petrin Tower
This tower is accessible by cable car. It looks similar to the Eiffel Tower, although it is of lesser height. Once on it, you will see that it offers some interesting views of the city. At the top there is a souvenir shop and a small cafe.
Besides these attractions, Prague has many others that are worth visiting. Sure, depending on your interests, you’ll want to add one or two more things to this list of must-visit. The city offers so much and is a matter of selecting according to the time you have. Whatever you choose, you will be very pleased and no doubt, it is a destination to return to.
