I was surfing on the internet when I saw an article about a special weekend event that takes place in Montalcino, Italy. The event was dedicated to my favorite sweet food, the honey.
The event was from the 6 to 8 September, it was open for everyone especially for honey lovers. It was my chance to visit Montalcino, a sweet chance for a lovely weekend.
So Montalcino here I come. I had never visited Montalcino before and it was a suprisingly nice experience. The streets of the city center were exposed with hundreds of honey samples made in Italy. I had never seen so much honey gathered in a place (thought that I was in heaven). I thought that I was the only person that loves honey that much, but definitely I was wrong. People from everywhere had come for the same reason that I had – for honey – The best part was that experts gave us tips, of how we could use honey in many recipes.
Honey has become the ingredient to prepare whole dinners, from cocktails to dessert. Honey was used with wine too. I do not enjoy drinking alcoholic drinks so I usually prefer non-alcohol drinks that can make me relax. However alcohol drinks are really tasteful with honey. You should try it. I knew that honey has many advantages for health but I did not know that honey could help you lose weight. For you that love chocolate it will be helpful if you try honey because it is really tasteful , it helps you stay fit and most of all it fulls you with energy.
The experts showed us how to recognise a good honey as well. Before you buy a honey product you should read the label and see its geographical origin. You could also recognise honey from its colour and smell. It will be wise for you honey lovers to search for products that are handmade. Because manufactured honey does not have the same pros with the honey that is made in a farm. It was a really joyful weekend, I wish I could have stayed more but I had to go, but I think that you should visit Montalcino , not only for the honey but for the warm hospitality and its beautiful places.
