We are not in the States, where several natural parks offer the opportunity to see bears in the wild (but be careful that they are dangerous), but also in Europe there is a sanctuary , actually it is called Medve Otthon, where you can admire these beautiful animals and maybe offer some honey with a wooden spoon.
Here they rest or the use it as a shelter. Bears who had worked in the cinema or in circuses,find themselves without an employer or worse, they are mostly abused or injured bears that are cared for and pampered, at least a little. There are not only bears, but other animals, such as wolves, storks and wild boar, here are cared and protected by the country. Medve Otthon is Ivacs in Hungary, about an hour’s train ride from Budapest, a great place to get out of the city. A place that will make you happy especially the families that are traveling with children, which, in addition can feed the Bears, pony rides and play safely. There’s also a restaurant.
Regular trains depart from Budapest Nyugati (as mentioned it is an hour drive), and once you arrive, you must make about 2 km on foot to reach the shrine. The entrance costs 500 florins, not even 2 euro.
