Dublin is without a doubt one of the best destinations for a weekend vacation. It is the capital of Ireland and is in fact a very charming city full of wonderful places to discover with a good variety of delicious food and great beer.
The Little Museum in Dublin is among the most interesting spots in the city that have been pointed out to us and that comes as no surprise as we find out more about this place. It’s a small museum created by a non-profit organization to tell the story of the city during the twentieth century. It has only been open since 2011 so it is still very fresh. The museum is on the first floor of a Georgian house which houses and preserves the collection of over 400 important objects which describe the history of the social, cultural and political center of Dublin.
This collection consists of paintings, posters, photographs and objects of all shapes and types that can be found and seen there that convey the cheerful and bubbly nature of the inhabitants of Dublin. Among the highlights of the collection are objects related to the visit of famous important people such as President John F Kennedy, the actress Marlene Dietrich and boxer Muhammad Ali. A lot of the charm comes from the setting of the museum as a structure. The first room of the gallery is a living room where visitors can sink into the comfortable chairs, enjoy the fireplace and browse the selection of interesting books and magazines about Dublin that are present.
The Little Museum in Dublin is open from Thursday to Monday, from 12:00 to 18:00 (on Thursdays until 20:00). The ticket costs 5 euros for adults, 3 for seniors and students while children under 10 get in for free.
